Mý Huê (pronounced ‘me whey’: see Miss Muffet’s ‘curds and whey’) has a foot on three continents: (South-East) Asia, Australia and Europe. Born in Vietnam during the war, she was adopted to Australia by an Australian father and Austrian mother.

In the early Nineties, she travelled to Vienna, Austria, where she studied the violin and graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts.

In the year 2000 she gave up playing the violin professionally and turned to writing and arts journalism, writing for the then only English-language print newspaper, Austria Today. During that time she had the opportunity to explore her journalist bent and interview musicians, artists and actors, the list of which includes Dennis Hopper and Phillip Glass; Australian conductors Simone Young and Mark Foster; theater director Barrie Kosky and actor Paul Capsis.

Over the last 12 years she has been working as a writer, journalist and self-employed translator, copywriter and editor. She has had poetry published internationally in small presses; in Vienna founded a poetry group, and has been a long-term member of a writers’ group. She is currently editing her first completed novel.

Using the fruits of her multifaceted background and diverse set of interests that include languages, culture, food, travel and people, not necessarily in that order, Mý Huê aspires to contribute informative, insightful and inspiring writing.
